Parent Scholars Program

As a parent, your college experience is unique as you try to balance the obligations of work, school and family. The Parent Scholars Program (formerly the Career Links Program) can assist you in managing these challenges during the course of a semester by working one-on-one with you to identify and access the resources necessary for academic, career, and employment success.

Benefits of the Parent Scholars Program

The Parent Scholars Program is a formal, structured program that connects participants with additional HCC and community services. Specific benefits include:

Case management

Scholarships

Is This Program Right for You?
The Parent Scholars Program is open to current and prospective students. This is the right program if you:
- are unemployed or underemployed,
- are a parent with dependent children enrolled in a degree program or a career-advancing noncredit program,
- consider yourself to have low to moderate income,
- are pregnant.
Are You College Ready?
To be eligible for the Parent Scholars Program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Current student who have completed one more semesters should have a 2.0 GPA at the time of applying.
- New students must be eligible for ENGL-121 and college-level mathematics based on placement tests or other multiple measures.
