Advanced Pronunciation Training
Reduce your foreign accent and learn to pronounce English in a way that will make others understand you better.
Business Idioms
Idioms are everywhere in the American workplace. "Roll up your sleeves" and learn how to use them with confidence when writing and speaking in common business scenarios. *Online option available depending on semester.*
English for Business Communication
Improve your written and oral communication around these topics: cultural diversity, socializing, using the telephone, negotiating, making presentations, and participating in meetings. Learn more about cultural norms associated with communication in business.
English for Professional Leadership
Develop language skills in the area of business leadership. This course focuses on current management topics including leadership styles, motivation, recruiting, marketing, use of teams, strategy, dealing with change, managing across cultures, downsizing, finances, and risk management and decision making. A key component of the course is exposure to contemporary management vocabulary.
Grammar for Business
Improve the accuracy of your spoken and written English using actual business scenarios. This class will focus on grammar that is needed and used by business professionals.
Professional Writing
Learn to manipulate grammar and vocabulary to make your meaning clear in various types of professional writing such as e-mail correspondence, conventions, memos, short reports, summaries, business letters, cover letters, and resumes.
Six Steps to Clearer Pronunciation
Practice pronunciation in the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the world! Your instructor will guide you through detailed video lessons and assign exercises for more practice on your own. Videotape yourself with easy-to-use technology, and your instructor will respond privately to you with feedback and suggestions. A webcam with a microphone is required!
