HCC was again honored to host Governor Wes Moore on September 15, 2023, along with Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, the Governor’s Cabinet, and Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. Members of the college Student Government Association and staff greeted the legislative delegation, which enjoyed a continental breakfast provided by students in HCC’s Center for Hospitality and Culinary Studies Quantity Bakeshop class. The students were excited to meet the Governor, Lt. Governor and the Cabinet, and represented programs such as Howard P.R.I.D.E., Phi Theta Kappa, Athletics, and the Silas Craft Collegians.
In October, Governor Moore visited the college again for a celebration dinner with the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. Additionally, HCC is in conversations with the Governor’s Office of Service and Civic Innovation to engage student participation in the state-wide service year initiative.
$10 MILLION INVESTMENT
