Howard Community College mourns the death of Trustee Frank S. Turner. Turner was appointed by the Governor of Maryland in 2019 and served until his passing on February 14, 2025. Mr. Turner is retired from the Maryland House of Delegates, having served from 1995 to 2019.

The seven-member Howard Community College Board of Trustees, appointed by the governor for six-year terms, is the college's legal governing body. In their role, the trustees have oversight of the college presidentand adopt a set of key performance indicators, (previously known as core ends) through which the operation of the college is directed.

President Daria J. Willis, Secretary/Treasurer

Daria J. Willis, Ph.D., serves as the fifth president of Howard Community College. She assumed office in January 2022, following a nation-wide search process and a unanimous vote by the college's Board of Trustees on November 4, 2021. Dr. Willis is the first African American to lead the college in its 51-year history.
