President's Annual Report: 2022-2023
When I was named as the fifth president of this esteemed college in October 2021, trustees of the institution made clear the charge for my office and administration. Success, in their words, would be defined by our ability to grow student achievement through degree completion, career placement, and the expansion of the HCC brand in communities throughout Howard County.
It has been a privilege to embrace those challenges, and to add upon a great legacy of leadership in teaching, learning, and workforce training for the proud members of our campus community. We are on an amazing journey of meeting the needs of a diverse citizenry and shifting workforce. We are recognized locally and internationally for our approaches to making students feel seen and nurtured through higher education. We continue to be an anchor institution for the socioeconomic and industrial welfare of our county and state through expansion.
These pages illustrate the first steps of this remarkable quest to provide pathways of opportunity for all deserving Howard County residents. I hope they illustrate the vision set forth by our dynamic board of trustees and enacted by our community of scholars, advocates, and benefactors. I am grateful to be a part of this transformative work, and to serve as the loudest voice of vision and support for this great institution.
Whether this report serves as your first time being exposed to our college or your latest opportunity to experience HCC, welcome to Dragon Country.
