Business Administration - A.A. Degree (Transfer)
The changing business environment is growing more global, complex, and technological. The business administration curriculum prepares students to transfer to a bachelor’s degree business program. A broad-based liberal education is the foundation of the general education core. The courses related to the major offer students the opportunity to explore various business disciplines and skills, learn technology common in the business environment, and focus on such areas as accounting, international business, economics, business ethics, and entrepreneurship. Students who wish to transfer to the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business should speak with an advisor early to ensure the student meets course and grade level requirements. Students who wish to study international business should also speak with an advisor early to discuss World Language requirements for successful transfer. Successful completion of this business curriculum will prepare students to engage in the higher levels of study in many areas of business necessary to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
As a graduate, you should be able to:
- Professionally communicate the language, structure, and function of business in written and verbal form.
- Demonstrate the ability to use technology and digital tools to support business practices.
- Identify, understand, evaluate, and apply ethical reasoning to business decisions.
- Explain the organization, function, and global impact of the American economic system.
- Describe and explain the value of diversity and collaboration in teamwork.
