
STARTALK Application Process
Applying to the HCC STARTALK Program:
The HCC STARTALK Program has a new application process. Please read the directions carefully to ensure your application process is appropriate for your status in regards to the STARTALK Program.
Note: All communications with the HCC STARTALK Program must be done using the student's HCC email, including instances for withdrawing, changing from credit to audit, or vice versa. No exceptions.
For students new to HCC and STARTALK:
Before proceeding, please create a Howard Community College account by clicking here. Once you successfully complete your HCC application as a prospective STARTALK student, you will receive a follow-up email with the additional information form, which is used to determine your admission. You are required to upload the following:
- Unofficial Transcript (obtained through your institution's registrar or online registration system)
- STARTALK Essay and/or Teacher-Counselor Recommendation Form
- For students still in High School, Dual Enrollment admission procedures also required
- An Intent to Enroll form will be emailed to your HCC email after your application has been successfully accepted into the program. This form must be completed in order to have a seat in the program.
For current HCC students interested in STARTALK:
If you are currently enrolled at HCC and have an HCC email address, you may proceed to complete the following requirement below:
- STARTALK Essay
- For students still in High School, Dual Enrollment admission procedures also required.
- An Intent to Enroll form will be emailed to your HCC email after application has been successfully accepted into the program. This form must be completed in order to have a seat in the program.
For current/returning HCC STARTALK Students:
Returning HCC STARTALK Students that wish to continue to the STARTALK Program need only to sign and fill out the Intent to Enroll form. Please contact Mr. Ho at cho@howardcc.edu for more information.
