Custom English Language Programs

For language training that goes beyond our standard course offerings, the English Language Center (ELC) offers customized classes and training programs to groups of students, teachers, and professionals from around the world. Custom training programs are listed below, and for specialized training we will work with you to develop a program that meets your needs and interests.

Global Business English Program

More than 780 million people around the world speak English either as a first or an additional language. In today’s global market, it is more important than ever that professionals who conduct business internationally have proficient English.

The ELC’s Global Business English Program can build a custom program of study to meet the precise needs of your group. Our instructors are ESL specialists with real international business and leadership experience.

Establishing a partnership with the ELC can offer your international business professionals an opportunity to develop the English skills and cultural competencies they need to excel in their current and future careers.
English Development for International Educators

The ELC has a long history of specialized English instruction and routinely offers a range of English and English Language Teaching (ELT) courses for international groups with academic backgrounds. Visiting scholars and educators benefit from specialized classes with highly educated and experienced faculty.

We can custom-build a program of study that includes academic English, English for communication, or Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). We design programs taught by experts in the field, based on the most up-to-date methodology, and customized specifically for the needs of your group.
Summer Language and Culture Academy

With its close proximity to Washington, D.C. and the major Maryland metropolises of Baltimore and Annapolis, the ELC is the perfect place for school-aged students to learn and practice English while discovering the culture of the United States.

Students who participate in the Summer Language and Culture Academy will learn English conversation skills from experts who have experience with their specific age group and will take part in active and engaging cultural activities around the region.
English for the American Workforce

The American workforce is comprised of people from many different cultural and linguistic backgrounds who must learn to work together.

The ELC can help you optimize communication between all employees by developing and delivering customized English language and cultural competency training at the time and location that works best for you.
