
Young Musicians Piano Solo Competition
The Music Institute at Howard Community College presents the Young Musicians Piano Solo Competition Showcase. The Showcase takes place on campus in the Monteabaro Recital Hall in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center.
After performances by talented Maryland high school students, the audience will have the opportunity to cast their own vote for the winners, alongside the decision of the judges. Mingle with performers and judges in the lobby of the Horowitz Center at the reception following the event.
Young Musicians Piano Solo Competition Competitor Details:
Open to Maryland Residents in Grades 9–12.
Selected applicants will perform two memorized piano solo works of contrasting styles. Video audition submissions are due in late winter.
Awards:
FIRST PLACE: $500 Cash Award
SECOND PLACE: $250 Cash Award
THIRD PLACE: $150 Cash Award
Audience Favorite Award to be polled and announced at the Showcase Concert.
Honorable Mention(s) may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
