Lessons and Faculty
The Music Institute offers a variety of private lesson options, including classical, jazz, rock, and folk music, as well as some lesser-known mediums (such as opera, songwriting, and chamber music).
Whether you are a young beginner experiencing formal music training for the first time, a high school student preparing for competitions and conservatory studies, an adult wishing to return to the instrument you set aside after high school, or a music lover wanting to know more and be a more informed listener, The Music Institute has an offering just for you. For those seeking performance experience and opportunities, we offer four recitals per year in addition to any studio recitals organized by the teachers. Wondering if your child is ready for lessons? Visit our web page to see if The Music Institute would be a good fit for your student.
A weekly attendance report will be maintained by the teacher and student, detailing lesson times, lengths, and any other pertinent details. Students should maintain a lesson record using the Lesson Attendance Chart.
The Music Institute and the Music Department of Howard Community College share their faculty. Most of our instructors have a master's degree, while many have doctoral degrees, and they perform locally, nationally, and internationally. Our faculty is highly trained, experienced, motivated, and, most importantly, they are dedicated teachers who love what they do.
