Steven Caballero has been playing, performing, and teaching guitar for over 20 years, drawing early inspiration from guitar legends Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen. His versatile career has seen him play in bands across a broad spectrum of contemporary music genres, including Heavy Metal, Neo-Soul, Pop, Punk, Funk, Contemporary Worship, Math Rock, Fusion, and Alternative.
In the past decade, Steven has become a dedicated student of Jazz. While pursuing his Associate degree in Music at Howard Community College, he honed his skills under the mentorship of respected Baltimore Jazz guitar giant Michael Raitzyk and fully immersed himself in the vibrant Baltimore City Jazz scene. He has performed with notable musicians such as Blake Meister, Jesse Moody, Michael Benjamin, Eddie Hrybyk, Andrea Brachfeld, Gabe Rupe, Frank Russo, John Pineda, Bhagwan Khalsa, Michael Raitzyk, Miles Brown, John Thomas, Shawn Simon, Christian Hizon, Russel Kirk, Michael Graham, Ben Grant, Alex Norris, Alejandro Villareal, Todd Marcus, Jeff Reed, Chuck Karner, Dave Rybczynski, and Kyle Coughlin, to name a few.
After graduating from HCC with high honors, Steven transferred to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville to complete his Bachelor of Music under the guidance of Jazz guitar virtuoso Barry Greene. At UNF, Steven had the privilege of performing alongside esteemed Jazz artists including Scott Giddens, Lynne Arriale, Dennis Marks, Todd DelGiudice, Barry Greene, Pasquale Grasso, James Hogan, Jack Petersen, and Danny Gottlieb.
Steven Caballero currently resides in the greater Baltimore area, where he continues to teach and perform in various musical settings.
