Visual and Performing Arts Center
The Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center opened in the fall of 2006 and quickly became a beacon of creativity and a cornerstone of Howard County's cultural life. As an educational and production venue, the center offers community members the opportunity to engage with the arts as patrons and as students. Equipped with state-of-the-art instructional facilities for the college’s Liberal Studies Division, the center serves both credit and noncredit students. Within its walls, the arts are explored, practiced, and celebrated, empowering students to become creative leaders in their fields.
Home to three indoor performance venues and two art galleries, more than 35,000 patrons attend performances and exhibits annually. Through a combination of resident and partnership programming, the Horowitz Center serves as a gathering place where students and community members are invited to gather, celebrate, and be inspired.
Now entering its 20th Anniversary Season, the center celebrates a milestone year showcasing the creative talents of both students and professional artists. The 2025–2026 season offers a wide-ranging lineup of artistic experiences, including children’s theatre, classical music, contemporary dance, modern musicals, stunning art exhibitions, poetry readings, film discussions, and more. With programming designed to engage audiences of all ages and interests, the Horowitz Center continues to enrich the vibrant arts and culture scene of Howard County.
