Event Details | Dragon Mondays: Trauma and the Fear of Failure- Reclaiming Confidence and Growth
Dragon Mondays are leadership workshops designed to develop your leadership skills. Why do we sometimes freeze, procrastinate, or avoid taking chances—especially when we care about something greatly? This presentation by Bethany Pautrat, who is the Assistant Director, Honors and Undergraduate Research will help college students to explore how past experiences of stress, rejection, or trauma can shape their fear of failure today.
Students will learn how the body and mind store fear-based responses from earlier experiences, and how these patterns can influence academic performance, relationships, and self-image. Through discussion and practical strategies, participants will discover ways to recognize emotional triggers, challenge perfectionism, and build healthier coping skills. By the end of the session, students will gain tools for self-awareness, resilience, and growth, learning that “failure” does not have be then end, but instead, coping and learning from failure is a vital step toward healing, confidence, and success.
A light lunch will be served.
