HCC's Test Center is part of the Consortium of College Testing Centers. We provide secure and accessible testing services, as well as resources for all types of examinations according to the standards of the National College Testing Association.
The Test Center offers the following services for current and prospective students:
- Placement testing to assist new students with selecting the right classes to start their college education
- Assessment examinations necessary for students interested in enrolling in Howard Community College's nursing and allied health programs
- Academic testing for currently enrolled students, including makeup exams, online course exams, and modified testing conditions for students who require accommodations.
The Test Center works closely with Disability Support Services to provide most required testing accommodations.
In addition, the Test Center offers the following services for students and the community:
- CLEP (College Level Examination Program) and DSST (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests) provide students the opportunity to receive college credit for successful demonstration of their knowledge in a subject area.
- External Proctoring is available for individuals who need to take an exam from another college or university
- Industry-based certification and licensure examinations through Pearson Vue, Meazure Learning, Certiport, and Iso Quality Testing.
- GED testing through Pearson VUE.
