HCC Named a Top 10 Community College for International Students
Howard Community College (HCC) has been named one of the best community colleges in the United States for international students by Study International, an independent platform specializing in resources for students pursuing higher education abroad. HCC was recognized for having an inclusive environment, diverse academic offerings, and comprehensive support services.
All of HCC’s support services are available to international students, and the college offers a variety of special resources specifically designed to help international students succeed. In fact, HCC serves students from over 100 different countries!
International Admissions and Advising
HCC has a dedicated international admissions and advising team to provide international and immigrant students with academic advising and assistance in the admissions process. The team also serves as a point of contact for all student visa and immigration-related questions during students' time at HCC. Howard Community College welcomes all students regardless of immigration status.
English Language Programs
Howard Community College’s award-winning English language programs provide instruction to over 2,200 students annually. The English Language Center offers seven levels of English as a second language classes. Students wishing to study English in a full-time intensive program can enroll in the English Institute with an F1 visa. Skilled Immigrants Program
The college’s Skilled Immigrant Program is for foreign-educated professionals with international work experience looking to restart their careers in the United States. The ten-week program provides students with experienced instructors, counselors, and employers to help set and achieve their career goals. International Education
In addition to welcoming international students to the United States, HCC helps students thrive in an interconnected world through international programs and experiences. The office of international education organizes study abroad programs and collaborative online international learning opportunities, where HCC students learn virtually in partnership with peers at schools in other countries. HCC students have previously traveled to Ghana to study culture and ethics in literature; France to study baking and pastries; and Italy to study the intersection of history, religion, and art.
